Midi Me

Urban Outfitters Grunge Sleeveless Maxi Tunic, Crystal Pouch Necklace Today’s feature trend is the midi – referring to a particular length of skirts and dresses that hit below the knee but above the ankle. And if you feel like you’re having an episode of déjà vu it may be due, in part, to the fact that I’ve featured it before (http://justjilli.com/2014/07/29/midi-moment/). But don’t worry, I’m not suffering from amnesia or running out of ideas! The midi is just so prevalent in fashion right now, and so incredibly versatile, that I thought it warranted a second look. In fact, the midi can be dressed up or dressed down, making it the perfect length for almost any occasion. And because my first foray into the world of midi represented an altogether dressier iteration, today I wanted to show a more practical way to wear this trend that’s fairly appropriate for every day. You’ve gotta love a super simple all-in-one outfit, and today’s look is just that: consisting of only a midi dress and combat boots, I accessorized with my leather pouch necklace for good measure (it’s filled with crystals –  you can never have too much good energy, right?). On a cooler day, a leather jacket would complete the look nicely. But back to the ‘dress:’ I’m a huge fan of this one in particular; its button-down center allows for it to conveniently double as a long vest! (more on that later…)
