This is the outfit that I wore on Sunday of Coachella. Sunday is always a weird day, and this year was especially weird due to the inclement weather, which consisted of crazy wind storms for the better part of that day. Despite the weather, Sunday proved to also be my favorite day! How could I not enjoy seeing La Roux, Pretty Lights, Excision, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers? I chose to keep my outfit fairly simple; you usually can’t go wrong with a simple white tee and denim cut-offs. However, in honor of never being boring, I chose this particular white top because of its interesting 3D floral pattern, and tied the look together with a vintage clear plastic belt.
I wore this outfit on the second day of Coachella. It saw Major Lazer, The Postal Service, Moby, The XX, and Phoenix. We had lots of fun together on Saturday! The second I saw this one piece at a boutique in downtown LA, it was love at first sight. I knew I had to have it, and I knew I had to wear it to Coachella. What attracted me to this piece was its engineered floral print, whose strategically placed pattern is not only on-trend, but also happens to be figure flattering.
Coachella came and went so fast, I can hardly believe it was a week ago today that we were heading to the festival! I had the most amazing time this year, it was definitely my favorite Coachella yet! Some people hated on it, but, in the end, I really enjoyed the diversity of the lineup. I got to see some old favorites, like the Postal Service and La Roux, as well as discovering new talent, like Modestep! I wore this outfit the first day, a transparent maxi dress over a bodysuit. There’s just something so liberating about not wearing bottoms! Plus, I was super comfortable the entire day. And that’s all you can really ask of a Coachella outfit, so, in the end, I knew that I’d made the right decision in wearing this crazy dress. Stay tuned for Day 2 & 3 outfits!
There’s almost nothing easier than throwing together a blouse and jeans. It’s one of those simple outfits that also manages to look put-together, and I find myself wearing some variation of it fairly often these days. I love this look because it’s easy to throw together when I’m in a rush, and even though it doesn’t require much thought, it still manages to be appropriate for almost any occasion. In order to keep the ensemble from getting tired, I like to mix things up, with different prints, and layered necklaces. Brown leather booties completed this look.
The color black dominates my wardrobe. In my experience, you just can’t go wrong with this timeless classic; it’s flattering, doesn’t show stains, and matches almost everything. However, you still have to be careful about wearing all one color, even when that color is black. There are ways to make a monotonous outfit less, well, monotonous. That’s why I chose to pair this particular pair of black leggings, which have some interest at the knee, with a black fringed shirt, and finished the entire look off with a statement necklace.
I’ve always been a big fan of my birthday; it’s probably because my mom always made such a big deal of the occasion. Well, this past week I celebrated my 25th birthday, and though I couldn’t be with my mom for the big day, she still managed to spoil me. So I decided to put together an outfit from some newly acquired birthday pieces, with a little explanation as to what makes them perfect for this season… Continue reading
